faq's

1) Why do you always write in lower caps?
i'm not sure why i started doing this, but i love it.  i know some people don't like it (kinda like the folks WHO WRITE IN ALL CAPS and people think they're yelling!) but i've done it for so long now that it seems like a signature for me. no worries though, when i mention the Lord Jesus Christ, i always capitalize His name. kinda makes Him stand out WHICH I LOVE, because in all i do, He is the one that should get the glory.

2) Why "the gift of mondays" for a name?
i always try to look for the silver lining in a situation or find the good in the bad. when trying to think of a name for the blog, i was looking for something that most people think of as negative but could be a positive if they chose to see it that way. hence mondays. most people hate them. i almost called it the gift of mondays and mother-in laws. same concept-most people don't have something nice to say about either one. i however, love my mother in law. and i love mondays. i just went with the shorter version. it goes better on a tshirt...

3) Have you really been married for over 28 years?
i have. or i should say "we" have. chris and i met when i was a junior in high school. he was/is 3 years older than me. we got engaged a year later when i was a senior, married 2 1/2 years after that, and the rest is history. i'd be lying if i said it's all been apple pies and sunshine but i'd also be lying if i didn't say that God gets all the glory for us. i've known forever, that no matter how much we messed up, God could fix it. and He has. and He does. and He will.

4) Do you really live at a motel?
we do. we own a 25 room mom & pop motel in blairsville, georgia. it's on 2 acres in downtown, right across from the historic courthouse. it's pretty cool, because there aren't many motels in small downtowns anymore. well to be honest, there could be, there just aren't any that i know about. the motel is attached to our retail plaza and i'm thankful everyday that chris is handy because it seems like there's always something that needs to be fixed. or adjusted. or moved. and he knows how to do all of those (thank you God for sending him into my life!) our motel is closed on sundays (no check ins, just stayover guests) so our folks (and us) can go to Church and spend time with our families. you can thank Truett Cathy for that. he's the Chick-fil-A guy. ( www.truettcathy.com ) you know, that great chicken restaurant that's famous for being closed on sundays? yep, it was his idea first. i just followed along.

this is us: www.seasons-inn.com

if you come to town, stop by and say hi. just not on sunday. cause you know ...chances are, we won't be there.
